We did it! We took the plunge and walked down the aisle to become Mr.& Mrs. Griebling. Neither one of us were in a hurry to get married. The commitment has been there since the begining and we felt like it was just a piece of paper; in our minds, we had already dedicated ourselves to each other. However, we went on our first offical date on 12-12 and as the date started to approach we had laughed and joked about getting married on 12-12-12. After talking about it for a while we decided that being in Las Vegas and trying to get married on that date with half of the world just wasn't worth the headache. Fast forward to Monday morning December 10,2012. Chris has decided that we were getting married and we weren't going to let any obstacle stand in our way. He said we had conquered so much already that pulling off a wedding in 2 days would be a walk in the park. I was so taken back and caught off guard that I immediately jumped out of bed screamed, "Yes!" And off we went to get our marriage liscense.
There is no way we could have pulled this off if it wasn't for our amazing friends and family members. Everyone jumped right up and didn't miss a beat. Emails were being sent, directions were being drawn up, orders were being placed, and dress shopping was under way. This was truly meant to be. I believe that god made miracles happen in those two days that normally take months and weeks to get done. He was on our side and we felt it more than ever.
The first dress shop we went into laughed when I told them when the wedding would be (this happened alot within the two days). I told them what I would like my dress to consist of and they picked about 5 dresses that they thought would be fitting. First dress I tried on fit perfectly and had all the elements I wanted in a dress. "Perfect, I'll take it wrap it up. We've got things to do." The room was silent. Everyone was in shock over how well it fit and how quickly I was able to find one. We were there a total of about 20 minutes. Luckily, everything to follow went just as smoothly.
We want to thank everyone who helped out and everyone that was able to make it. You helped make our special day just that much more amazing! From the bottom of our hearts, we thank you. It was a day we will always remember and always cherish. It blew our expectations out of the water.
